Anniversary

Ted and Lila Millhuff celebrated their 50th anniversary three times. On December 7, they had an early celebration at Grace of God Fellowship (Tucson, AZ), because their children and grandchildren were in town. Family in attendance included their son JR and his wife Julie, son Brian and his wife Shelli, JR’s sons Tyler and his fiancée Kaila, and TJ and his girlfriend Kim. It was a day to remember!

Michelle Landess, friend and party planner, with her crew laid out a splendid array of decorations for the celebration—cakes and waterfall, flower-covered archway for pictures, toasts and pictures galore, gold tablecloths with gold-wrapped candy in the center. Folks brought the very best food to share. Music from 1958 played for the dance. Videos were taken by Troy Gardner, and many photos were taken for special treasures to be remembered. Several friends from Honeywell, from which the Millhuffs recently retired, attended. This kind of event could well become an outreach program—bringing family and friends in for special occasions—sharing the kingdom along the way!

The second celebration was the actual anniversary, Dec. 19, on board the Amsterdam traveling to Antarctica. John Siston handled the booking for the cruise. He sent flowers and a special gift of dinner at the Pinnacle Grille for the anniversary. Ted ordered 50 red roses to be delivered before dinner. All was beautifully done.

The third celebration was a renewal of vows that took place near the Falkland Islands while traveling up the coast of Argentina. The service was handled by Captain Fred Eversen, who renewed vows for three couples (40 years, 46 years and 50 years). It was a fun celebration—sharing stories and a history of the journey for each couple. Younger people asked how each couple managed to stay together all these years. The Milhuffs responded, “having God as our main focus—the navigator in our lives! We are truly blessed and looking forward to where God directs our journey from here!”

Ted is the assistant pastor of Grace of God Fellowship; Lila is the music director and a worship leader.
