Youth Ministry

Ted Johnston explores the tool of nurture, where we assist children, teens and college age young adults as they receive the nurture that comes down to them from God, in Christ, through the Holy Spirit. Through this nurture, young believers receive God’s guidance for being and building disciples of Jesus. Page 12.

 

Washington camp

Ninety-two campers and 45 staff members experienced the transformational presence of God Aug. 15 to 22 at SEP Washington in Orcas Island, writes Dee Bulante. Five preschool children participated in their own mini-camp. Page 14.

 

Bible Study

In the first four chapters of Romans, Paul announced that the gospel is a message about the righteousness of God being given to people because of Jesus Christ, writes Michael Morrison. In chapter 5, Paul says a few things that have caused questions for centuries. Page 25.

 

Financial Report

September closed with $1.46 million in member donations, writes Ron Kelly. When compared to the first nine months of last year, regular mail income is down 6 percent. Page 28.

 

Hispanic Ministry

Raul Ramos, director of the U.S. Hispanic Ministry Department,  shared with ministry leaders the growing need for Spanish language outreach ministry in the United States and discussed how to implement this in the local context. Page 29.

 

Reconciliation

Curtis May, director of Reconciliation Ministries, spoke to Pasadena police officers, conducted a reconciliation workshop and attended the National Summit on Racism. Page 31.
